Al final del debate, don Juan Manuel Villasuso le dijo a Otto Guevara que, con las condiciones actuales del tratado, las leyes de la agenda complementaria, de fortalecimiento del ICE, etc, debían ser ratificadas por el presidente de EEUU, para verificar que no tuvieran "conflictos" con el tratado. Es decir que el presidente de EEUU tiene poder de veto sobre las leyes de Costa Rica. Si al presidente de EEUU no le gusta la ley, la veta, y no la podemos aplicar, porque "va en contra" del TLC.</DIV>

<DIV style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: times new roman, new york, times, serif">La respuesta de Otto Guevara, fue que eso era cierto, y que entonces lo que había que hacer era tener cuidado al redactar las leyes nosotros para que el presidente de EEUU no las vetara.</DIV>

Entonces cómo vamos a permitir que un presidente de OTRO país, que NOSOTROS NO ELEGIMOS, decida si nuestras leyes, discutidas y aprobadas por diputados y presidentes costarricenses, electos por los costarricenses, están bien o no? En qué momento un tratado que debería ser estrictamente comercial vino a meter condiciones acerca de cómo se aprueban las leyes en Costa Rica?</DIV>
