<DIV style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=yiv2037467161MsoNormal><SPAN>Claudio Monge Pereira, diputado del Partido Acción Ciudadana (PAC) y presidente de la Comisión de Ambiente de la Asamblea Legislativa, denuncia la tala ilegal de árboles en Santa Cecilia de Concepción de San Isidro de Heredia. </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=yiv2037467161MsoNormal><SPAN>Se trata de una zona montañosa declarada de interés público, por el suministro de agua a la población, desde hace más de 120 años. El 30 de julio de 1888 se promulgó, durante la administración de Bernardo Soto Alfaro, el Decreto de Ley No. LXV, que declaró la protección de las áreas de recarga y descarga –captación– de los mantos acuíferos. </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=yiv2037467161MsoNormal><SPAN>El representante del PAC, quien visitó esta mañana la zona para recabar pruebas y conversar con los miembros de la comunidad, narró que los supuestos propietarios de los terrenos arrasaron con dos hectáreas de montaña, y tienen previsto talar siete hectáreas más por completo. </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=yiv2037467161MsoNormal><SPAN>“Es un desastre natural. La tala no solo afectará las áreas de captación de agua, sino que pone en grave peligro a las comunidades de Santa Cecilia y sus alrededores, ya que viven al pie de la montaña. Sin árboles, habrá deslizamientos y en el futuro, problemas en el suministro de agua potable”, explicó el diputado Monge Pereira. </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=yiv2037467161MsoNormal><SPAN>A pesar de ser una zona inalienable, los supuestos propietarios aseguran tener una escritura –título de propiedad– anterior a la promulgación del Decreto de Ley No. LXV, avalada por la Procuraduría General de la República, pero nadie ha visto el documento. </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify" class=yiv2037467161MsoNormal><SPAN>El presidente de la Comisión de Ambiente denunció la irresponsabilidad de los funcionarios del Ministerio de Ambiente, Energía y Telecomunicaciones en Heredia, quienes han favorecido la tala intransigente de los árboles a 1800 metros de altura, en detrimento de la conservación de las montañas que abastecen de agua a las provincias de Heredia y Alajuela. </SPAN></DIV>
